Nowadays, people run after money. They are too much indulge in wealth that they forget to take care of their health. Every year, we come across with the new diseases and a lot of people lose their health, wealth, and family.

The fact is, we can’t stop such epidemic. But yes, we can minimize its effect by taking preventive measures. In the year 2019, one more such disease echos in everyone’s ears “Corona, Corona, Corona”. What exactly is this Corona? Where did it come from? How does it spread? What are the symptoms? What precautions should be taken? We will cover every single aspect of Coronavirus in the article. "Coronavirus” is on the mouth of every person these days. From child to adult, news channels to social media platforms, this bizarre word has become viral. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered Coronavirus. Here CO’ stands for Corona, ‘VI’ for Virus, and ‘D’ for Disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as ‘2019 novel Coronavirus’ or ‘2019-nCoV.’ The word “Corona” came from the Latin language which means “Crown”. This virus has a crown-like projection.


According to WHO Report, this virus has spread across 190 Countries, areas or territories. Due to its viral appearance, WHO has declared this as a pandemic

There are some types of Coronavirus that causes severe diseases. These include:
  • Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) that first appeared in China in 2003
  • Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV) that first appeared in Saudi Arabia in 2010
  • And 2019 n-CoV first appeared in Wuhan, China in December 2019
It initially occurred in a group of people with pneumonia who was associated with seafood and Live animal market in the city of Wuhan.

Symptoms:
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Pneumonia
  • Kidney failure
Diagnosis:
The infection can be diagnosed by the test known as Polymerase Chain Reaction(PCR). This test identifies the virus based on the genetic fingerprint.

Treatment:
As of now, there is no specific medication for this virus. Only preventives measures can be taken to get rid of it. Well, there is no vaccination. Treatment and vaccine are in development.

Prevention 
There are a number of standard hygiene practices that are being recommended to protect against infection and further spread.
  • Cover your mouth and nose while coughing and sneezing with either medical mask or tissue paper.
  • Avoid contact with those who are sick.
  • Wash your hand frequently for at least twenty seconds with soap and water or with the alcohol-based hand sanitizer having at least 60% alcohol. 
  • Ensure that the animal products are cooked thoroughly while consumed.
  • Avoid unnecessary contact with animals.
  • Stay at home when feeling unwell.
  • If you have fever, cough, and difficulty in breathing, seek proper medical care.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth unnecessarily.
  • Maintain social distancing. Keep at least 1m distance from the infectious person.
